This is apparent with artists such as Rihanna, Michael Jackson and One Direction. Another form of iconography that links with Pop music are musical instrumentss, most notibly guitar and piano. This is because they help to change the music an artist creates, so the music isn't just about an artists voice. It brings another side to the genre, as it means that not all of the music in the genre is indistinguishable. Ed Sheeran, Sir Elton John and Taylor Swift are all examples of artists who use musical instruments to enhance their music. This helps them to differentiate themselves from other artists, so they can be seen to have their own unique style within their genre.
